April 2021 100+ Miles/km Thread

Time for me to step up my effort. I've missed my goal for the last couple of months. Put me down for 700 miles and I'm going to try really hard to make it this month. What are your plans for April?

spent some time working on a few bikes . Airing them up , swapping saddles , fixed one flat .
after test ridding them I added up my mileage and I’d ridden 5.1 miles.
going back old school this week and I’ll be riding my single speed cruisers. Like riding on a recliner.

Beautiful morning to ride .
I made adjustments to my Cruiser bikes and took them on a cruise this morning.
I figured if I can’t do distance anymore, I may as well enjoy my ride more .
I think I lost some the enjoyment of riding by pushing myself past what I should have at my age .
Riding should be fun .

4-5: 1.5 miles
April goal: 100 miles

MTD/YTD is now 1.5 miles. It was a shakedown right after my first assembly of my Disc Trucker. First nice bike I’ve ever owned, first I’ve ever assembled, and hopefully the start to a healthier future.

Big biking plans coming up and my goal is 100 miles for the month.

Hell of a first bike! Almost bought one myself but went a different route. Congrats and best of luck on your goal. Two things that helped me attain mine in the early days that might help you:
1. Figuring out how many miles per day I needed to ride to hit my goal - mathing it out - helped me stay focused a little bit more
2. The mindset of "if I can do 1 mile, I can do 2" - trying to add a half mile or a mile every subsequent ride

I was really concerned about the weight capacity of modern bikes and being nearly 350lbs I felt like I didn’t want to risk it. It’s also a highly rated touring bike and my fiancé wants us to take some really long bike packing trips towards the end of the year.

I’ve ridden her peloton a handful of times and after my first ride of my surly yesterday, I’m pretty sure I can do 5-10 miles with where my heart rate was and seeing that my butt or hands didn’t hurt as much as they had when starting on the peloton

Yes, welcome! And as soon as you hit ten posts, you’ll need to upload a pic of your new bike.
