Ok, I got shots.

Where are the photoshopped ones? And what's with these "rules?"

And note the size of the file. You are wasting a lot of band width, koffee. You can post much bigger photos(in dimension) within 100kb limit.
Huh?

That's not photoshopped. I went to the DeRosa factory, and they let me walk around and take any pictures I want. You can email them and ask if you don't believe me.

I guess other than the changing of the image size, there's no photoshopping. I didn't do any special effects. I'm talking about the special effects, and you know exactly what I mean.

I'm ok with doing small pics. My originals stay with me, and if you want a full size, you can contact me and I'm perfectly willing to talk price.

Everyone calm down! Filters, etc.... did you not take the shot WITH the filters?

Photoshopped pics where there are definite effects added in (ie: adding in reflections, changing or distorting objects), I would think is not the picture you took. It's the picture you manipulated. Anyone can manipulate, but I thought this was just an amateur shot thread- the "hey, I took this picture, and wow... it looks great!" kind of thread, not the "hey, I took this picture, and then I used photoshop to change things around, and look how neat that picture looks now!". Both look great to me, but I definitely am overawed by people who have great shots where they did nothing... but go to town, do what you want. I said that stuff kind of tongue in cheek, and folks are just going freaky wild. This ain't an election for the US president... it's a thread on bikeforums. Relax! I was just making a suggestion!

Ok, I just deleted soft porn shots, etc. Those pictures are DEFINITELY NOT ALLOWED.

Anymore pictures like that, and the thread will be shut down.

Ok, I must admit I failed to follow Koffee's rule. For exemple this image I posted earlier really looked like this before I photoshopped it.

Sorry.

Lies! I really love your work. If I could take photos, they would be the same ones you take

Oh, and that one I posted with the bike and the water... photoshopped

What if I applied the filter AFTER I took the shot? Like if I didn't have the right ND filter at the time I took the sail-surfers shot, I can still apply it later for exactly the same result; that's not "pure" enough photography? This is an old-debate that was settled a decade ago. Photography is an art with numerous tools available. To say that Dali was less of an artist for using a modern nylon brush instead of a camel-hair brush is crazy. Should we limit all photos to only those using film-cameras instead of digital?

What about pushing the film in processing? Here's a shot that was too slow at 1/4-second as it is. So I couldn't capture sharp waves. I still had to push it in the bath at 200% to get the exposure right. Is this allowed?

Huh? How can that even be porn? There's no nudity and you see chics like that walking down the street every day. You see way more risqué stuff at the checkout line in supermarkets! Should they all be the tossed in jail or stoned to death for exposing more than 10% of their skin? Ok, here's the American Taliban "acceptable" heat-shot only pictures:

And a sanitized head-shot only version of that last picture that got yanked. <-- WARNING: extreme adult-content may not be suitable for children under 18. Open at your own discretion.

There's nothing wrong with the original. Shoot, that's a damn good shot. Squirrels freak me out. I was sufficiently freaked by the before and after shot.

Here's one that Erick will recognize. Took it with a disposable plastic camera. Notice the film-grain and vignetting distortion. I could clean it up in Photoshop and get a better picture, but it wouldn't be as "pure" of a photo:

I didn't delete the first picture in this post of yours. I think you're forgetting exactly what pictures you put up there that were deleted. In any case, don't be surprised if any more pictures get deleted. We do have kids on this forum, and we do have guidelines, AND you were warned. Thanks for your cooperation.

Well, I was warned about the toy-rental link I posted in spite after someone complained about the picture of my GF giving me a hummer that I posted in the "numb/sleepy p*nis" thread. It showed less less of her than everyone gets to see everyday . The mod that pulled it actually thought the picture was funny and OK, but someone complained. Personally, I think complaints should be directed first to the poster, and resolved between them in a dignified, adult and mature fashion with manners. Then if a resolution cannot be reached, then a mod. can be consulted as referee. All this in-the-back sniping just reminds of grade-school antics.

I think the guidelines needs to be more well-defined with a measurement-metric assigned with quantitative values. Such that if 100 people were asked and instructed to evaluate any situation using those guidelines, they ALL would make the exact same conclusion ("does this bike weigh more or less than 15lbs?" is very easy to determine, but if you ask "is this bike too heavy or two light", you're gonna get a wide variety of judgements). As it is, there's way too much subjectiveness involved. I'm HIGHLY offended by a lot of the stuff that comes out of people's mouths without supporting numbers or engineering studies, but I'll complain about that elsewhere.

Here's the picture that was deleted, I removed some cleavage, hopefully it's acceptable now.

BTW, I do keep a list of where each and every one of my photos is posted along with the watermark IDs.

Ok. We do get complaints, and then we investigate it, and we follow the forum guidelines. That's how moderating works.

That cropped headshot is perfectly acceptable. Thanks.

Yeah, that certainly makes more work for you when people don't take it up with the poster directly. Thank you for your all your work in keeping things in order here, it's certainly appreciated even though people don't express it.

Here's another headshot:
