Let's pretend for a moment that Bike Forums is a Democracy. We just elected three new forum moderators. Do you agree that they are all qualified and doing a good job so far?

Here are the new moderators.

for my taste the moderation has historically tended towards being a bit over-cautious and politically correct but the end result is good - the site is still one of the best places on the web and there is a reason that Google ranks bikeforums threads so highly
(too early to comment on the new mods)

I think you are rude to even start a poll asking the question.

New mods....I vote delete this thread.

A recent post...

Forumember:

Hi. I am new to mountain biking. Can someone tell me about the different kinds of mountain biking?

Hi565

Have you ever heard of the band Rush? They are great.

So far, so good. Hell, I missed The Right Reverend's blue star somehow. It's all good to me as long as they don't touch me in my no-no place....

I guess its a good thing bike forums isn't a democracy. About the new mods, while i dont see what made hi565 a better canidate for a mod then some of the other people on the forums, i do think he is perfectly deserving and capable. I think the new mods are just fine.

While all the mods work together to pick the "new" mods. Sometimes we pick em because of the times they play online and sometimes we just grab fresh faces with energy. I can think of 10 other people who could make decent mods. But they are all on at the same time and in the same subforums ...

Oh, but I think its too early to ask how they are doing. If they are qualified, okay.
Also, i dont see anything wrong with this thread. No reason people who are not mods cant have their opinions voiced and heard.

Mods are doing fine.

More than anything else, we need a term limit for the moderators. There is nothing good comes out from life time assignment.

Isn't 3 or 4 years, maybe even shorter term good enough?

It's not like there's a shortage of other qualified members.

If we did that, I think we'd only have 3 mods.... pretty humorous.
