Andrew Tanenbaum said, "Richard Stallman and X do not get along, for all values of X." I met Stallman once. Creepy.

It'll cost you more if you want air in the tires. And what about that "Only really interested and serious injuries?"

Bargain Peugeot Fixie!

Not even a combined COVID and hipster tax can come close to justifying this price.

STUNNING Colnago Superissimo "Les Paul" Custom $1800

I received this frame re-chromed but unpainted and took a leap into faith, foregoing a period-specific paint job and applying a (pain-in-the-rear to mix) logo-free custom cherry burst. The resemblance to a classic Les Paul is unmistakable; it turns heads for the chrome/red contrast, but it drops jaws for the subtle yet vibrant ombre emanating from the bottom bracket. Prepare to treat fellow riders to a closer look (and confront the occasional purist who thinks I've desecrated the poor thing).

Structurally the frame is fully sound, with no dents, gashes, etc. The paint is durable, finished with a 2k high-gloss clear coat, and has a couple noticeable chips around the downtube/bb area. [If it wasn't clear: this isn't a rattle can job, but rather the mixing and application of commercial grade auto paint with an industrial spray gun and air compressor.]

The build is full Shimano Dura Ace--7800 gruppo w/ 7900 brifters, I believe--down to the chain, all in excellent condition. (I couldn't resist adding a Campagnolo headset... hey, it's Italian!) Ritchey seatpost and Nitto Technomic stem with Deda Anatomic bars are nothing special but do just fine. Wheels are Dura Ace hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro rims, paired with the creamy sidewalls of Vittoria Corsa G2.0 28mm tires. It wouldn't be fair to separate the Silca chrome frame pump from the build either.

I've kept this bike excellently maintained and cherished the rides on it. Sure, at this price point you could find a newer, lighter bike, but let's be honest you're not breaking any records outside Strava. Carbon belongs on the Tour. Have a maximally enjoyable ride and look good doing it with a truly unique, classy, timeless bike.
...stunning. Used a genuine industrial spray gun. With a real air compressor. ...subtle, yet vibrant....jaw dropping.

I think they're high on spray paint fumes if they think they'll see anywhere close to that kind of money for those trash heaps.

OK, this is a BSO, but it wins the award for the most cursed bike I've ever seen. I almost want to make an offer for like $20 for how cursed it is.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/b...156382355.htmlSo... I bought this bike off my buddy for $150. It is new in the box. I think the original price on Amazon in $350 or close to that. This really is my first bike as an adult and i have NO IDEA how to put now together. That combined with the disc brakes and other adjustments... i gave up. But also, this bike is SUPER weird. I looks like they just typed "JHSGJKHTWJGHJK" all over it.

anyway... If you know how to put a bike together better than me its all you.

$150 cash only, firm. I have all the parts and tools as well. I did throw the box away.

I knew I sold it too cheap LOL.

Well, I don't know how "wacky" this is but I listed this little Bridgestone last weekend, my phone was blowing up but it was too small for most people, however it still sold in less than 18 hours. I let the guy talk me down a few bucks, he gave me a sob story about having been out of work for 2 months but I didn't come down much because I had a feeling he was scamming me on that one. I think my instincts were right.

So this morning I'm checking out FB Marketplace and I see this ad....... same bike, same guy but WOW that price! I wish him all the luck getting that out of it. Especially since there's another one just like it that got put on the next day for only a few bucks more than I sold this one for.

At least he didn't use my pictures........ but he should have.

I had a guy like that who listed an ad in Bicycles on CL describing an old Columbia bicycle but posted three pics of a vacuum cleaner. He replied with a page long rant of profanities about how some of us should mind our own business and get a life. I showed the email to a buddy, he too emailed the guy about the wrong pics he posted and got the same thing. He then used his wife's email and asked if he still had the bike and that he wanted to see it, he got the same nasty reply. I think he was hoping to find out who the idiot was but he apparently just put the ad up to be able to send nasty replies to everyone. A few days later the ad was gone.

I answered an ad last weekend for a Raleigh Sports ladies model about 10 minutes from me on CL, the guy had listed and described the bike fairly well by the pics, and sounded normal when I called the number he sent me. In a half hour conversation he never mentioned anything about price, and the ad said $50. When I got there he was waiting with the bike in his driveway. The tires were flat, no big deal, but they weren't in the pics, and the handlebars were loose and hanging down with one grip cut off with a knife. Still not a deal breaker, but the first words out of his mouth were "You do realize its not $50 right?". He then jumped right into a whole speech about how valuable they are and that he hopes I brought at least $400 or I was leaving without a bike. I looked at him and asked why on earth would you list it for $50 if you wanted $400? No one in their right mind would go for that game. He got a nasty attitude so I flipped him off and left. The next day there were several other people who posted warnings about the ad and his attitude.
I get just as many flaky people as buyers too, I have one guy who shows up for every last bike I list wanting to take a test ride. He's an older guy, likely in his mid 70's about 5ft 4in tall or so, and he replies to every bike over 63cm that I list, each time offering $25 or less no matter what the bike is. I just stopped answering his emails.
I'm afraid he'll either hurt himself trying to ride a too big for him bike or drop one and damage something expensive.
I get more and more people who want a test ride, I tend to choose who I'll let take a ride or not these days. Most bike shops won't let anyone take a test ride unless they bought it first. Lately I think a lot of people are just bored and looking for something to do.

Yes, but that's the first I've ever heard of someone posting a messed up ad just so they could rant at at the person who pointed it out to them. It's so deviously brilliant that it frankly scares me a little.

This guy is on another level for his CL honeypot for …Nosey Neds. What would you name a well-meaning CL bike ad user?
