Bitter sweet day today , sold the Comp TA . The young man I sold it to says he wants to get into Tri Athlons and he likes C&V . I told him about BF's and he sounded interested .

That's wonderful. I'd ride that sucker, like Granville's shop bike in "Open All Hours." A stealth shop/racing bike.

Thanks tex , it was a fun build . The guy just texted me and said he swapped out the "O" ring tires for the regular road tires I gave him and said he loves it . The bike fits him perfect as he's about 6'2".

Yikes. Stem looks to be at the limit and maybe the seat post beyond the limit!

Not to worry. Spread the magic. There's more than enough out there.

By that pic it does look at the limit , maybe the camera angle . The buyer wanted a price drop and I gave to him (I was really glad to see the bike go to a good home) but I kept a few parts . I put good stuff back on just not stock stuff , the seat post I kept and I put on a black anodized post that looked pretty good . The post went back on my track bike . Hey Classtime maybe you will see the Comp out on the road , the buyer is from LA too .

Markwesti@ I mostly ride Palos Verdes. Perhaps I saw you on that Comp TA a few weeks ago up by the college? At The Domes recently, I met a guy on a smallish Red Classic. He acted a tad embarrassed to be riding it while his buddies were riding raised bars on carbon bikes. We need to print some cards to hand out in such situations.

Oh, I'm in for that.
We carry the cards, "palm" them secretively to fellow cult members and prospects, like it's a BIG SECRET.

Similar to a Marine Corps challenge coin, but without any hint of honor, faith, challenge, or sacrifice.

Post ideas for a card?

Nope wasn't me , I wasn't really riding the Comp and that's the main reason I sold it . Prolly only lost about 250 on the sale . LOL .

Magenta Touch Up

Neither one of these or any combination will match our MVs. What works for you?

This what I use.
Magenta is Salon Perfect 520 purple pop.
Marigold is L.A. Colors NP419.
It should be noted the specific nail polish magenta I bought was a different shade than the others on the shelf.

Ragbrai on Ironman

My daughter granddaughter (Iron Maiden) & I rode 470 miles in 7 days. My daughter had to have her bb serviced but the Centurions performed flawlessly. We climbed hundreds of 6-8% grades and a few 10%. The finish was up a 12%. My granddaughter said it changed her. She now knows she can do anything.

Those longer rides can be life changing. The first time I did a two-day 250 mile ride when I was in my early 20s I realized the human body is capable of more than we realize until we try. (However, my now 61 year old neck disagrees with anything beyond 30 miles.)

I have problems with my shoulders and neck hurting on longer rides and figured I would be miserable on the day after day pace if Ragbrai. I did hurt at the end of the first few days but as the week went on it bothered me less and less. I never once regretted riding my Centurion. Here are a couple more pictures from the ride.

Nice wheels. What size Conti GP5000 tires were you able to fit in there? So far the largest I've tried are 700x25 Conti Ultra Sport II on the original wheels/rims.
