SRAM Rival 1 chainring swap

Purchased my wife a Rove ST with the 1x11 drivetrain, it has a Rival 1 40t chainring. I’d like to swap that out for a 36t or 34t for her (will shorten chain if needed). What’s the best approach? I know I can get a GXP direct mount ring but than I need to remove the whole crankset. Are there standard 34 or 36t chainrings that can mount directly to the Rival 1 spider?

will this directly mount to the existing spider? 110 bcd

That ring is the inner ring for a double chain ring crank. For a 1 by you need a x-sync (narrow- wide) chain ring like this. https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-X-Sync-Road-1X-Chainring

Can I do a direct mount GXP chainring? What kind of offset should I get?

https://www.jensonusa.com/Wolf-Tooth...or-SRAM-Cranks

Yes, I’d have to remove the crankset to install, but not a biggie.

Depends on if your frame is boost or not?

Rear hub is 12 x 142, is that boost? I’m researching...

Boost is 12x148. You should get the offset for non-boost.
