colnago find, worth?

looks like an alu frame with the durace 7700 groupset.
Do you think is a bad choice to invest 100€?

An aluminum Colnago from mid to late 90's with dura ace 7700? I'd take a chance on that for just over 100 bucks sight unseen. Aluminum was king when dura ace 7700 was it. Pics!
(Doh! Just figured out that the links are pics. Wow. That's pretty much a Rabobank and Mapei fighter plane from that era. I'm not a Colnago buff but that was a high end race machine and I'm sure some riders from both of those teams must have chosen it to ride on. )

I would buy it but I would sell the frame and fork and hoard the groupset.

Why are you asking this question....BUY IT ALREADY. It needs a lot of work but at 100 euros it is a steal.

Hi CrowSeph, I too have a Colnago Dream Lux and it's a great bike to ride. It's very stiff at the bottom bracket (little sideway deflection) and the ride is a little more comfortable than you would expect from an aluminium frame. What you put into your pedal stroke noticeably transfers to the rear wheel and forward motion - I love mine.

You seem to have stumbled across a bargain - I bought mine secondhand and Campagnolo 10 speed Chorus equipped around 2005 for $3500 (Australian) but I thought it was a bit expensive but I loved the ride so I had to have it. Mine was built in 2002. The paint work isn't all that durable though.

The Durace looks like a 9 speed, so swapping my 2008 Veloce for it do not seems a good idea.
Do you think a good cleaning and maintenance can make the bike easy to sell for a bigger price?
The frame looks good but even if my main bike (from late 2008) is in carbon and do not seems a good idea to use this frame instead.
Let's say if I decide to take this bike, probably I'll use ad investment, but for my actual financial situation I want to think a bit more.

A little surprised, in your tag you seem to have a lot of bikes but don't know about Colnago even after seeing it.
What's the l saying..you snooze you.......!
There will be others, but next time, if it's cheap buy it now and ask questions later.

Is it a Colnago? Can't tell. It needs some pantographing, Colnago bar tape, Colnago stitching on the saddle, and maybe a tall Colnago flag waving in the wind.

That's definitely a buy now, ask questions later bike. Always sad when those inquiries shown up here. I'd love to have an aluminum Colnago.

Too bad the seller was in Europe. There are enough people there who have something more than a superficial understanding of and appreciation for well-designed aluminum frames to guarantee that the bike would sell quickly. I guess "steel is real" doesn't rhyme in other languages.
