Has Anyone Ordered Anything from Jandd?
I am contemplating ordering some gear from Jandd. Has anyone ordered anything from them? How is the quality and service?

I bought a set of Jandd panniers 20 years ago and I still use them on a weekly basis. They are a little frayed at the corners but work great.

Another note of satisfaction from this well-established company. Solid designs and rugged construction sums it up for me. I have ordered direct from Jandd twice, but have used, and continue to use, many of their products, primarily seat bags (two currently) and pump straps (one currently that's about 15 years old).

I have Jandd bags that are in better shape after 20 years than other bags bought 5 years ago.

Have ordered three times from them, several handlebar/saddle bags, general multi purpose zippered bags, saddle cover, and probably a few other odds and ends that I can't remember. All top quality. Would not hesitate a bit to order again. Actually keep their website under favorites for ready availability.

Bought a couple sets of racks and some bags from them over the years. Can't tell you how well the bags held up, they got stolen, along with the bike they were on. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again though.

I've ordered two panniers, a rear rack bag and rack bag rain cover from them and their service was great each time. It was two separate orders. They responded to email questions within 12 or so hours and shipping was quick.
They also listen to their customers. I returned the rain cover because it didn't have a loop for a binky. The owner Dave, emailed me and thanked me for pointing out the "flaw". He informed me that loops would be added to all future bags. He offered a refund or the new looped cover when available. I opted for the new cover.
I am very happy to deal with truly responsive and responsible companies

Their lowrider front rack is very good. A lot stronger and stiffer that the Blackburn. Not completely a blessing for lowriders. I stopped using a front quick release because spreading that stiff rack to pull out the front wheel is hard! On the road, pulling out hex wrench for the Phil Wood bolted axle is a lot easier. But that rack feels like one I could load heavily and go for a year of riding on bad roads and it would make it. (I'd be on my third Blackburn for sure, breaking them at the fender bolt.)

My Jandd seat bag lasted about 30 years of hard use. When it finally wore out they had discontinued the model so I replaced it with something else, but can't complain about the durability.
My Jandd panniers aren't in daily use, but they're over 20 years old with well over 50,000 miles on them, all the zippers still work and the seams are still good.

I've a frame-wedge from '99. Was brick red but Sun decided a nice blush-fade suited lol. I'm always overstuffing this thing (especially when we're tilted away from Sun), so much so it's on its fifth zipper. Easy pattern to replicate too.

My stoker had used a J and D Mountain Wedge III, and I got one from my wife for Christmas this year.
On that particular bag, pretty well made, looks like it would be better for "fluff" than for heavy stuff. The opening is small compared to the size, so if you need stuff off the bottom it can involve some digging. But well worthwhile. Look at the instructions as to how it goes on a saddle, may not be obvious.

Great gear. As others have said, it's tough and it lasts. The company is easy to deal with and stands behind its products. When I had a problem with plastic buckles falling apart after a few years of hard use, they sent me new ones no questions asked.
