Recommendation: Compression Socks ??
Hello fellows,
I have been wearing some no-name compression socks for the last few years.
Do you recommend one-type of compression sock for riding and another for recovery after riding?
Would you please recommend one or two of the best quality compression socks for me?
Thank you in advance for your response.

Dumb question:. Why do you need compression socks? What is the foot problem this is addressing?
My understanding is compression is used to help inhibit swelling and strained/fatigued muscles? I've used compression sleeves on my calves for this reason with success (basketball).

Darn Tough Socks in Vermont makes the best socks I have ever used so try them too. Other high end socks would be Rockay and Swiftwick.

The companies that sell cross-fit and gym clothing generally have excellent quality stuff. Try a company called 2XU. I have a few pairs of that company’s compression shorts I wear cycling and they won’t quit. I am sure they have socks or sleeves.

I was just starting to look at 2XU, I had not considered their compression shorts. Do you wear these after cycling or during? If during are you wearing your chamois shorts underneath them?
Is this pair of socks the Darn Touch socks you are referring to?

Darn Tough makes the best merino blend socks. Lifetime guarantee. Pricey but the best quality.
Try compression shorts without a chamois.

I find I actually learn more from those that question things vs those that just spit up information (advertising) that is already easily available. I don't need anymore 'compression' than what is already present in a pair of Adidas crew length athletic socks and I am in my sixties.

Try a pair of merino wool athletic socks and you will see what I am talking about. I just got in from a 36 mile ride wearing a 5 year old pair of Darn Tough socks.

It is just common sense. Cotton is a horrible fabric for athletic socks. I wear the same socks for cross-fit, gym class and cycling. They last forever and fully guaranteed for life.

I know that wool is the best material for socks and I've been using wool socks my whole life, not only for cycling but for everything else....What I am trying to say is that you don't need any special compression socks or cycling specific socks to ride a bike. Any type of wool sock will do, I buy my wool socks at a work clothing supply store for very cheap.

I wear Swiftwick socks while exercising from time to time mainly for running. They're affordable and the best part is Made is U.S.A. Check them out.

When cycling, I wear Adidas athletic socks. They do the job for me.
