Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

While camping in the North Cascades during my cross country trip I saw an osprey snag a fish from a lake.

In 2013, while camping during a cross-PA tour, I heard an owl in the trees close by. A few minutes later it pounced on a chipmunk that was scurrying around a tree stump about 10’ from my picnic table. Poor rodent never stood a chance. I heard him make his last earthy chirp.

Would you favor banishment or just an infraction?

I definitely think the Az advocates should be banished.

I was thinking about that this morning. I could spend $72 in new spokes for the wheel set I'm in the process of building, or I could dip into my stash of used ones and do it for nothing. Not to mention not having to go into Merida to order them, and then go again to pick them up.

Who can guess what species of bird was dinner here?

But then I would have had to drag all those albums around for all those years....

One of these days I'll figure out the parallel lifetime thing, and I can actually be in that apartment in Sacto. I had a quadrophonic set. Dark Side of the Moon was fantastic on quad.

Funny, I had forgotten about that song until it popped up on the list when I was looking for the old Dave Mason stuff yesterday.

I use a pair of headphones when I listen to the lap top. Allows me to reach the threshold of pain on some songs.

I was reading cnn and saw this article about a swimmer being suspended for having an affair.

I don't necessarily applaud indiscretions, but seems kinda harsh to suspend him for this. Am I missing something?
