Autumn
Leaves have not yet turned though they are dropping from trees. Autumn weather brings fine cycling weather with cool mornings and warm days. There seems to be a certain invigorating clarity of the air - maybe more oxygen.
Today's club ride began foggy but soon turned into a beautiful autumn day through mostly farm land. I love this time of year.

We'll have some autumn weather here in a month or two, if we're lucky.

We had Autumn weather a few weeks ago. Now it's back to Summer temperature, which is odd for us at this time of the year. Next week is supposed to be the same, about 28-30C. I'm not complaining after the crappy Summer we had.

I'm waiting for the temps to cool to the point that I won't get heat stroke if I ride past 11am.
I am getting kind of tired of getting up at 4 or 4:30am to go riding.

I just caught the 10 day weather forecast, and it's mid to upper 80's. The I can't wait to see that moderate.

Man I wish I could get up at that time and stay up. I don't get outside till noon. By that time any kind of long ride is out of the question or it is going to be pure torture. Sweat burning your eyes, the Sun burning your skin, your frozen water bottles turning into a hot beverage in a matter of minutes, tared roads melting and sticking to everything on your bike. Only thing I will miss is the very long daylight hours. I try to avoid riding in the dark if possible.

Just got back from camping in northern Minnesota, near Grand Marais. The leaves are already turning there.

Autumn sucks as far as I am concerned. Shorter days, some cold and rainy. Gate way to snow and ice. Give me June July and Aug any day. Love the days with long day light.

I love the fall.Riding in the crisp morning air is a great way to start the day. Then to ruin the rest of the day I get to watch the NY Jets attempt to play football. The shorter days does effect the weekday rides before work though.

I'm with you. Born and raised in Texas, I cannot tolerate cold weather, and, when the days get shorter and the nights get long, I get SAD.

I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for about 10 years but moved back to New England just before Katrina devastated the area. In those days I played tennis regularly in high heat and humidity. I got used to it but had to drink many liters of water daily. Now in NE, I'm used to summer heat and humidity, (not too extreme in coastal Rhode Island) and outdoor activities in winter. Winters in this coastal area is relatively warm so we can ride bikes all winter long except for a few of the coldest and snowiest days. I've gotten used to and function well to heat and cold, including very cold snowshoeing and camping in New Hampshire. The trick to dealing with weather extremes is to get out in it so as to get used to it. After a while you begin to enjoy it.

Some of my favorite riding is when the roads and trails get cleared enough to be able to avoid ice in the winter, and riding through a pristine snowy landscape!

Yinz guys are making me shiver! It's probably 80 degrees, today, in Pixburgh, I'm wearing a t-shirt and flannel shirt, and my hands are like ice! I'd much rather sweat than have a runny nose and watery eyes from the cold wind, and don't even consider mentioning going faster than a walking pace when there's snow on the ground! You know why they call it a "biting wind"? 'Cause it BITES!

Some of the most beautiful days of the year here in Wisconsin are in autumn. Nice temps and beautiful colors on the trees and just great riding weather. Shorter days mean nothing to me because I can ride at night. I ride in the winter too with the snow and cold weather--I grew up here and it doesn't bother me. You've got to be tough to live up north where it's far easier to get comfortably warm in the cold than it is to get comfortably cool when it's sweltering hot.
I just saw the weather report and for Friday through Sunday we are going to have highs here in western Wisconsin in the 90s--the last week of September--and I don't think we had that many in August.
But a few days later the highs will once again be in the mid to upper 60s although we get some incredible days in the first half of October when it can get into the 70s.

Loving it here in Seattle with the break in those hot summer daytime temps in the 80s.
Fresh, ocean cooled air is glorious with highs between 60-70.

Apparently going to be near the 90s again this weekend in Michigan
I want my autumn! Somebody from Texas come and get this weather away from me! The leaves are already starting to pile up on the ground, I don't need 88F days!

Rode to Lake Michigan today in the breezy 88* and it felt good to take off the bike shoes and wade a bit. Cottonwood leaves are really falling.

Ahhhhtum...nice. Of course, it means checking the hunting schedules to wear orange during deer gun season in my rural area.
