Any pictures of DiamondBack Ridge Runners?
I did a search and found a few, but not many. I'm about to pick up an 83 DiamondBack Ridge Runner. The paint is rough and has a pretty good amount of paint chips and scrapes that have surface rust on them. Assuming the tubes look OK inside, I plan to get it to build into a drop bar touring bike. I might do a cheap and dirty spray can repaint, and a nicer repaint someday down the road. Only time will tell. I would love to see any pictures anyone might have of their early 80s Ridge Runners, preferably with drop bars!

I found one of these while on vacation a few months ago..........unfortunately I had limited time and resources and was not able to save it. Stuck bull moose bar and seatpost and somewhat trashed. Pretty cool bike though and worth some effort with genuine Suntour XC II bearclaw pedals, Sugino AT triple, Sunshine hi flange hubs,

Check out the MTB drop bar conversion thread. I know there have been a couple Ridge Runners on there. I seem to remember one that was posted in the last few pages with mustache bars.

I found some Miyata Ridge Runners, but I didn't see any Diamond Backs. Maybe I missed them somewhere. I've been scrolling that thread in general, though. There's some good inspiration in there for my coming build.

If it has the original Diamond shaped Bullmoose bars I would have a tough time swapping out. They look cooler than standard. I'm not into putting bars on MTBs though, unless it was missing them and had nothing else on hand. May be why you don't see many of those converted. They're pretty unique.

Old thread but new to me Ridge Runner. Serial # N3L503. Pics are from the seller. 1983 I believe. Plenty of patina, but it's all there-diamond bars, Sugino AT Triple, Suntour Bear Traps & thumbies. Ornate Lugs & mid-fork eyelets. The early years...
