Not rogue. But how to convert 2 rolls to one in a highly visible area and gloved (used) a lot.
All a part of my experimentation.

@P!N20 - yes, agree that multi strands can yield square, 2 strands less so.
And your work is really nice in the right situation. Inspirational.
I've got enough bikes to justify trying some variety.

Fair enough! But I don't think harlequin is lame, though I am troubled by the showiness of it. But the technique fascinates me, and I'll probably try it sooner or later.

I would probably use black (to match the hoods etc) and match the second color to the frame. The checkerboard stickers would not affect my thinking; in fact, on my Bottecchia, I removed the checkerboard stickers. I thought they were lame.

It definitely can look sharp and be a conversation stimulator, but alas, a question I never have to ask. I hate taping bars to start with. I tried harlequin once. The first 2 inches looked ok. I know better than to ever try again. Would rather make my own leather bar covering.

That said, I think a full bar, low contrast scheme would suit that bicycle.

First thing you need to do to make your own leather bar covering is go out and buy a cow.

"If the fresh skin of an animal, cleaned and divested of all hair, fat, and other extraneous matter, be immersed in a dilute solution of tannic acid, a chemical combination ensues; the gelatinous tissue of the skin is converted into a nonputrescible substance, impervious to and insoluble in water; this is leather."

Sure, but there's a real craft in it and results in something tactile. Like most things C&V there's the underlying craft and time spent getting things just right, as opposed to walking into a shop and getting the latest whatsit.

I sort of like it. Another thing that's a little over the top that I like: barber pole stripe on the seat tube.
