How to year of Miele Gara
I was going to private message T-Mar as every Miele search has at least some T-Mar notes, but I figured maybe others could gather from this as well.
Specs:
Tri-color 600 DT shifters, derailers, crankset, headset, hubs
Biopace
Ambrosio 19 Super Elite Clincher Wheelset
1. Was the Gara 88 only for 1988? This one does not have 88, only Gara.
2. How do you estimate year for 89, 90, 91?
3. Is this paint called Watermelon Pink?
Sorry, I only have one photo, it will have many more once it is cleaned up
.

I would guess it’s a 1987 since the tubing appears to be Matrix rather than Cromor.
And that headset looks to be from the 6200 series instead of tricolor.

Nice looking bike, love the color. Miele has sort of been on my watch list but I never see them in my size.

Your headset logic makes perfect sense but this is a rare case where it is incorrect. The 1987 version on the Gara was the Gara Triathlon and it used Columbus SL, had chromed stays and embossed stay caps. The OP's frame has none of these characteristics but is a good match for 1988 or 1989, Furthermore, while the 1988 Gara 88 was mostly 600 Ultegra, it was curiously spec'd with the older New 600EX headset. Finally, the decal set is incomplete and the watermelon coloured frames typically sported black logo, so the decals may be a partial and incorrect replacement set. Pending the serial number, I'm leaning towards a 1988 Miele Gara 88, though I wouldn't rule out 1989.

Thanks for all the follow up.
Maybe I am blind, but I cannot find any numbers on the back of the seat tube above the bottom bracket.
Three more questions:
1. Are Miele decals typically lower quality? I ask because the frame is in great shape, but the decals are not.
2. What would the original handlebar wrap and tires be? I would guess they had been replaced once, but not sure.
3. The saddle says Turbo, is that original?

1. My decals were OK, considering paint condition when I bought it, but since they're not clearcoated they will wear. Better than Pinarellos
2. Your guess is as good as mine. I have seen a brochure online, worth a look.
3. Mine when I bought it did not have a Turbo, but I have no idea about originality. It was 20+ years after original build.

The serial number is usually low on the seat tube but not always at the back.
Miele used a couple of different materials for decals over the years. As noted, the lack of clear coat over the decals increases their susceptibility to damage but they are not as brittle as Pinarello.
During the period in question, Miele spec'd Bike Ribbon handlebar tape. Typically, it was either white or black, colour matched to the logo.
Tyres were often contract manufactured with Miele branding. During the subject era, they were generally 700 x 23C skinwalls manufactured by National.
A Selle italia Turbo would be OEM.
I just realized that I missed one of the OP"s questions. The official name for the colour is Watermelon Pearl.

Still never found any serial numbers.
I figured I should post a few cleaned up picture as well (wish the decals had clear over them). Now I just need a few heavy rains to wash the streets and then some warm weather to enjoy.
