Schiek did some cross racing here last fall but doesn't seem to come in here much anymore. WK posted something a few months ago and dredged up some of Mayo's old stuff (which was cool)

Man, Dutret was the best thing about this place. He was like the cycling equivalent of the armies of skinheads who kept the shows of my youth dangerous and memorable (plus he actually knew what he was talking about).

No offense, but Dutret seems like this guy at my old LBS in Virginia Beach. Sure he knew a lot about bikes, but he always assumed you had no idea what you were talking about ever. Every question I asked, the guy at the LBS would just make me feel like a moron for asking. Legitimate questions too; like how much fork rake would be comfortable on rides that were less- or how should I cut carbon bars.
The first few times it was alright since he was facing my frame and chasing the threads on my bb and I didn't really wanna piss off a guy who can f*** up the threads on my bb shell. This one time I asked him to help me glue my tubular rims and he was b****ing the whole time. I went there for a while and eventually- it just became an experience I dreaded- going to bike beat (off) and hearing this trek fanboy talk down to me when all I wanted was to special order some odd or end to fix my ride- some people just have bad attitudes.

Whatever, I totally dug his rants. Pure entertainment.
Watching people squirm when they couldn't admit he was right was the best part.

So did dutret get banned by IP address or just user name?
Maybe he'll come back lurking under a different handle...?
But yeah, informative though he may have been at times, the unnecessary rudeness wont be missed.
