Went to a job interview today. The buses were running Sunday routes, so I pedaled there and back. Practiced my commuting skills. About 16 miles round trip.
The guy liked me and liked that I knew how to run a 16mm film projector, I guess everyone else is strictly digital.
So I've moved up from unemployed to underemployed.

It seems like people soon get other job offers as soon as soon as they start a new job, so maybe full employment will soon follow...

Thanks. It's all hills, so it seems longer. I'll hope.

Sunday -- we cycled 25.39 km on our tandem through the flatlands of northern Tasmania. Quick ride.
A little bit cloudy and 21C out there.
Just a couple photos of us posing with the tandem ...

Had some errands to run (post office, Walgreen's, Radio Shack), so 3.06 miles today. Temp was hovering around freezing and ~20 mph wind from the NNE. Luckily only 0.5 miles of that was actually into the wind.

My usual QT to home w/stop at Walgreen's to pick up a Rx that I've been trying to get filled for a week. Radar was clear, but it was drizzling when I started .

This week ... the usual walking to and from the bus, and from my allergist, and a little bit around town at lunch but less than usual because I've worked through a couple lunches.
Plus today, a group of us walked down to the water taxi to take us across the Derwent to our work Christmas function ... and back again. Most people opted to use this public transportation option.

I'm down for a while, got a boil near my inner thigh (a few days after doing a 4 hour walk) Oh the simple things we take for granted ..

My cat had an appointment at the vet for a blood test for her poorly working thyroid and a brushing (SO MUCH FUR!) and her claws trimmed. I walked the kilometre and a half round trip while Her Majesty was in a cat carrier covered in towels and pulled on a wagon. In a few minutes, I'll walk to the grocery store and find something for dinner.

I rode to Kmart and Kroger's. I needed to get some Khaki slacks for work and fig bars for tomorrow's parade. I was surprised that I couldn't find any pants long enough and that few had a small enough waist.
I stopped at the Post Office on the way home and picked up my mail. As I got home I noticed some flashes in the sky and minutes after I got indoors, the sky became liquid. Timed it perfectly!

I have some Christmas gifts to buy today so there is a walk to the toy store after lunch. Later on today, I am pedalling for 30 minutes on the trainer.

Sunday -- we got out for a 4 km walk down to the beach and back.
It is summer here now, but you'd hardly know it. So cool, dreary, drizzly, misty ... and it has been like that for over a week now. Just completely uninspiring for cycling.
However, I did get some photos of our local beach ... where we walked ...
And we live somewhere up there ...

Even though it was cool, cloudy, and kinda clammy, I managed to go for a 3 mile walk just to get out of the house.
I've also come to the conclusion that entering contests on endomondo isn't worth it. There are rarely any that are limited to just walking/hiking and there's no way to compete with cyclists and runners in the most miles and most calories burned categories.

I shovelled snow for an hour and 15 minutes. Does that replace any part of a walk or a bike ride?
And, I hate snow. And, I need a new shovel.

I have two snow shovels and it hardly ever snows of any significant accumulation here.
QT->Water Department->Optician->home. Nearly 4 miles, just over an hour. https://app.endomondo.com/workouts/446884635/16782025.
I've also been making edit suggestions to Google Maps and other than the one I reported today (restaurant closed, building torn down) and a name change of a furniture store, they have all been accepted/published .

This week ... the usual walking, but a little less at lunch than usual. And today ... I walked up to the next bus stop along to catch my bus this morning. A bit of extra exercise, plus back to the office from the allergist.

Rode to pick up soda pop, then to work.
My students are taking a late afternoon Saturday exam, and I wanted to bring them treats because I felt bad. Since it's right around 40F today, I'm just leaving the pop on my bike trailer parked outside, hoping that this will act as a natural refrigerator!

I walked to the grocery store with an empty rolling cart and walked home with a full rolling cart. Then, scraped slushy snow off the sidewalk.

Not when I get a 2 hour shift. I spent longer riding than working yesterday and today, and at an Arkansas minimum wage, that's 4-5 hours of effort for about $12.00.

Yeah, it's hardly worth it...but at least you aren't spending a couple dollars on gas.

Do you have a picture of your rolling cart? I think they're great ideas.

Saturday -- 41.58 km out to one of many "local beaches" and back.
Some hills, some wind, lots of sun! And beautifully nice warm temps of about 27C.
We stopped at the beach for about 45 min and tried to fly a kite ... which Rowan carried out there and back ... but the wind wasn't right and there wasn't really enough room. The tide was quite high. So then I waded up and down in the water.
