Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

One would think that Apple would have included a way to shrink the original without doing all that. After all, it lets you shrink the file size when emailing it.
I'm sure there's an app for that.

Put the old tri bike on the trainer, trying it out right now.

Something doesn't fit anymore, and legs are weak weak. I'll give the saddle a bit, maybe it's all rusty.

We are in the midst of a lengthy and violent thunderstorm, one which has wound down twice now, only to return with a massive thundercrack which sends the dogs running for cover.
I'm told that in Merida, 25 km to the west, they have had bright sunshine throughout.
Heavy rain for well over an hour. I guess I won't have to water this evening.

I've fallen back into my daily time trial ride for the summer. It's great to get out every day again. This morning's tt got 86th place. Come September I should be setting new prs again.
I thought I would test each bike, to see which is fastest. As of last summer the Trek 930 held that title. This year two more bikes will be thrown into the mix. One of them is red (and white).

Except there will be several days where I won't have any cell service or a signal so weak that sending even plain text messages could be difficult.

Aw, shucks. You are a good man. But then, you don't have to drive in Houston traffic. That probably explains it.

I can connect using LTE, so I don't need WiFi. I know there is one stretch where I will be off the grid totally for two days since I have a rest day there. I could also potentially go a week without a shower.

If it was time to roll, being on time is one of the first things I would learn.

There are folks that have survived childhood hell-bullying-dependence-which led to employment problems, throughout history. Being a half hour late to an appointment that is generally requested to be 15 minutes early? I'm really not sure why the people that are late, aren't to blame.

That’s a good summary. Key feature also is poor coping skills.
