Granny on my Ultegra?

I have a Shimano SG-X triple Ultegra Crank with the 30T for the Low can put a 24 or 23 for granny?
My second question is: Will XTR 10-speed (Shimano XTR RD-M985 Mountain Bike Rear Derailleur 10 Speed Long Cage) work with Ultegra Triple Crank and road shifters

Guess it depends on what model of Ultegra crank.
This seems to indicate no - summary is that it uses an odd ball granny setup.

Depending on what large ring you are using, you might not find a front derailleur with a long enough cage to not drag on the bottom.

The 10 speed MTB rear derailleur won't work with road shifters.
