Bicycle repair book

Calling all wrench turners!
I have worked on cycles since ever and I am now in need of a repair books.... for my brother. He has no clue and has no other transportation other than walking or riding. He is mechanical inclined. He has no $ for bike shops who all just want him to buy new so he walks. I set him up with a Gary fisher Ho Ko E Koo the bike is in great shape.
He need a great repair book pics and such as I am several hundred miles away.
I have never looked in any books such as big blue or others to know which to buy for him.
I need a recommendation.

Zinn is a great paper hard-copy resource. But for just about any topic now there are tons of video tutorials online. I think even Park Tool has freeware vids on their website covering their tech docs.

In the past books were good, but now in the world of ever changing standards, there is too much to put in a book, and it would be out of date by the time it left the printers. but you have the internet manufactures tech doc library, and as Marcus mentions a host of other online resources, and best of all, its almost all free.

I like the vidio bits but my brother has limited usage and need pics. I checked out books at local library and surprisingly they have not for me to see and review.

How old of a Hoo Koo?

That's a nice bike. If it dates back to 2,000 or so I'd definitely recommend Zinn's book. I thought that I had one around here that I was willing to donate to the cause but I can't find it.

For relatively modern bikes (say, within the last 15 years or so), the Zinn books are hard to beat. If you can't find them at your local public library, try getting them through an inter-library loan. If you find a useful book that way, you can find it or order it through your local bookstore to get your own copy that you can leave greasy thumbprints on.
