Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Going too slow. Going too fast. Taking a pull. Not taking a pull. Surging on a hill. Not surging on a hill.

You know, everything.

My dream is to someday get yelled at on the Nyack ride.
Not quite there yet.

One of the guys I regularly ride with always lets open a gap in the paceline. I 'm frequently forced to jump ahead of him and close the gap myself. In my mind I yell "close that gap you pu$sy". But he's too nice to yell at.

When I could close a gap smoothly I felt like I'd reached a new level of Roadiedom.

I'd never noticed how elitist BF is until I saw this thread, but that was 4 years ago.

I'm glad to see this tread get bumped back up. We get to yell at strong Cat 2's on our training rides on occasion and they deserve it. Of course there is much more yelling at clueless Cat 4's. It wouldn't be a Sunday team ride without some kind of yelling.

The "Addiction" thread has 481 pages and this one is still on Page 64. That says something about the 41.
