He's an awesome person. He just wanted to be (and was to us) just another guy on a bicycle, with no special treatment, while doing this ride. I talked to him briefly and he was having a blast riding with us. He was very disappointed because he was only able to finish two of the three days of the ride. He had to be in New York City to do his Sunday sports show and really didn't want to go. However, his wife stayed and got to finish the ride. He fell in love with Tampa when he was coaching the Bucs and decided to retire here. He lives in a very nice neighborhood, but certainly not the most exclusive, as some might think. A very down to earth guy! I hope he does the entire ride again next year.

Stopped to snap this pic on today's 50 miler. Dark clouds with some tree color in the background. But what I really noticed was brief appearance of SUNSHINE!!!! I sure have missed it. Been a while!

Thanks!
Yea, this time of year, the commute surely doesn't suck. We had some warm, calm weather yesterday with some whispy clouds. I only got to go out for a few hours, but it was fab.
I was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks in Southern Italy last month. SoCal isn't quite as spectacular, but it has it's charm.

The great Midwest: 51.5 miles, and only 1200 ft of climb.
That's what happens when mile-thick sheets of ice overrun the place.
When the glamour of fall is gone, but the gray of winter is at bay:

Today (November 16, 2015) was beautiful here in NJ. Low 60s. So I rode down to Washington's Crossing and only needed to wear a jersey and shorts!
Here's a shot from the Washington's Crossing Bridge looking upstream on the Delaware. Pennsylvania on the left and New Jersey on the right. The fall colors are pretty much gone and most of the leaves have fallen.
My bike wanted a selfie:

Ugh. I hate those metal grid bridge surfaces. Even when dry, riding across them makes my ride feel "squirmy". When wet, I may as well just jump off the bridge at the start!
