had a wonderful hookie afternoon.
I volunteer head up Trout in the Classroom for Texas. Today I was delivering a new chiller and filter to an elementary school on the Guadalupe tailwater (southernmost tailwater in the US) - at 3:30...
So I took my bike at noon and rode river road.
The road is really twisty with lots of elevation, crosses the river 4 times (I crossed a 5th time to ride in a neighborhood, as well (access to a great trout spot).

Just aren't too many places to stop, because everything is private, but this was turnaround stop at the 1st Xing.
I take my winter bag to stuff my layers (and haul my banana), but at 50 degrees and 80% humidity, it was pretty penetrating, so I kept my layers on.
After the first few miles, I was plenty warm in my layers.

Yes Victor,

You really do have a much more photogenic commute than I do. It would be very difficult to make traffic on Rosecrans visually exciting.

I joined a group ride to a ramen restaurant on a mountain 50 km from here. Afterwards, instead of heading back to Tokyo with the group I continued on my own to another mountain. There was snow by the side of the road, but all roads were clear. 150 km altogether. Even a cold day is a good day on a bicycle.

Very popular spot for Motorcycles and Sports cars. That would make me a little nervous because of all the traffic it gets. I'd be afraid of getting run over . Sportbike riders love to crash coming out of that corner above going the other direction towards the cliff.

Cold morning ride in Indiana. Started out at 14, and got all the way up to 18 degrees!!! Gravel and trails of the Hoosier National Forrest. Riding with two of my good friends! On the hybrid bike is Steve, second time off road, on the orange bike is Rod, first time off road. Starting Mountain Biking at over 50 is awesome!

It can get pretty busy, but not midweek ... which is when we there there.

The thing to avoid is climbing it on weekend afternoons ... particularly Sundays. Descending it is OK most any time. The descent is pretty fast, and if the person behind me is really impatient, I just move over and let them pass.

Epic stuff man, like the scenery and the soundtrack. California coast line looks sweet.

( BTW. Solid riding form and good camera work to keep up,) You guys were blazing pretty good, been awhile since I have done that.

Just one thoroughbred checking out another thoroughbred.

Actually, there was an empty single serve packet of Jason's Vanilla Almond Butter in my saddle bag.

Been enjoying the mountains and local neighborhood forest in the last week.
Mt Rainier, 14,400+ft, (can you feel the mountain Spirits), Mt Baker peak framed in blue, local trail in all it's green glory.

Seattle for depressing winters? NO, you only have to get out and enjoy the wonderment!
edit: rumor has it Rainier is gaining elevation.

Only 1.
Spending the week+ with a friend of 60 years.
Skis OK for a Houston, thin skinned, sun lover.
He hikes & bikes OK, too; but needs a local vintage bike role model to guide him.

Mt Baker peak is slightly obscured by a cloud in below pic.
