Buy an 8oz bottle of air tool oil from the local hardware store for $3:

Its cheap and cheerful for chain lube. Does the job for me.
Edit: Forgot to mention that it has a small spout built into the cap. So its easy to spread on the inside of a chain.

Go to the dollar store and buy breath oil drops. The bottles drop out a drop at a time, the nozzle comes off, and they only carry one lube's worth of oil. Four bottles for a dollar, and you will be minty fresh. Don't confuse bottles of cinnamon oil with Chain-L.
