58 cm custom DeRosa from mid 90's. Has been collecting dust for too long and needs to be ridden. Get it while I'm wanting to get rid of it, I love this bike soo much but just hate to see it sit around. Frame tubes are Columbus Maxium, pressed in a star shape and very comfortable frame. Forward facing dropouts made this easily converted to fixed gear but can be run with gears as well. Here is the low down- Campy seatpost, headset, monoplaner brakes. cranks are dura ace with rocket alloy 48t ring. Wheels are Araya hubs, Dt swiss spokes with Mavic sup 22 rims, 18 tooth cog. Continental gp3000 tires. Cinelli handlebars and cork wrap, and Fizik alliante saddle. I have over twice the $$$ I'm asking for it, but if you are looking for a blingy fixie here it is.

This is probably a really good deal, too bad I won't have cash until tomorrow.
https://spokane.craigslist.org/bik/1284115292.html
from the early 70s...and actually made in Nottingham England..it is classic white, black and chrome trim, white brake shrouds, road bike-drop bars, 21 inch pedal to top os seat tube (medium), best of all a real, old, original Brooks leather seat with brass tacking, chrome Normandy France wheel sets. Awesome; ride in style or hang on the wall. Shifts well, brakes..very cool: $60 without the Brooks seat.

Called the guy. Apparently it's a grand prix that someone put a brooks on

Not sure about the price though, someone more knowledgeable will have to wade in on that front.

Nishiki Road Bicycle - $50 (Fox Lake)
Date: 2009-07-22, 10:06PM CDT

I'm selling an old Nishiki bicycle. It is a road bicycle in decent condition, not great because it is old, but everything works. It has Deore DX derailleurs in the front and back, new tape on the handlebars and a new Specialized seat. You will also get two spare wheels with tires on them, these were the original wheels I got when I bought the bicycle 4 years ago. The bike performs very well, I'm just too lazy to ride it. I'm asking for $50 OBO. Email me if you want better quality pictures.

Elmira's a lovely area, so it would be worth the drive (plus, sounds like the seller might meet part-way). I might take a day off of work and do it if the frame were a little bigger.

Dropped
I got the conti today. Thanks for the heads-up, JunkYardBike!
It's actually not a high end bike. The campy derailleurs are Gran Sport. Most everything else is made by Ofmega, i.e. cheap copies of Campy good stuff. The bike is in sorry shape, with lots of rust. I was thinking of flipping this, but I think my daughter and I will fix it up and she'll keep it. The ride is absolutely superb. It's tight and balanced and stable. The bike is super light. She'll be very pleased.

No, the brakes are Modolo Flash. They're probably not the fancy Modolos that we remember from the early 80's, probably lower-line. But they work fantastically. I mean really, really well.
I spent an inordinate amount of time de-rusting the chain, which I had to do before we could give it a good test ride. When I was done, I noticed the chain was worn and needs replacement. Live and learn.
So my daughter test rode it, and she's in love. I wish this bike fit me. The ride is absolutely gorgeous. It's nimble but not the least bit twitchy. It feels like it will be a very eager climber, too.
The freewheel is Regina 5-speed, which is odd, because the bike looks like it comes from the 6-speed era. My daughter says she doesn't care.
There's a lot of rust on the frame. I hope we can get it off, and we'll have to do some touch-up work. Too bad we can't read the top-tube decal.
I always forget to take "before" pictures. I've already started cleaning it up. I should take pictures now before I make real progress.

Hard to tell, but you could ask the seller to measure it. Generally, they made 21" (54 cm) and 23" (58 cm), and this looks like it could be either. The photo makes it impossible to tell.

Good news about that bike, it's basically the same as later Ciocc but rarely seen in the US, even if it's an Aelle frame it was a bargain and should be a great ride...but I must protest. In MHO the Modolo PROs are a fine brake caliper, but the lower grade Modolos are some of the worst, ever. if you found some magic pads that make the Flashes and Speedys work fantastically well, I really want to know. Really.

Good news about that [Conti] bike, it's basically the same as later Ciocc but rarely seen in the US, even if it's an Aelle frame it was a bargain and should be a great ride...but I must protest. In MHO the Modolo PROs are a fine brake caliper, but the lower grade Modolos are some of the worst, ever. if you found some magic pads that make the Flashes and Speedys work fantastically well, I really want to know. Really.
I forgot to take before pictures, and we now have the frame entirely stripped down. My daughter says she wants to paint it, since it's so rusted.

There's that powdercoat place in Maplewood that advertises on CL. Heard anything good or bad?

No, and I might eventually try it, but I don't think my daughter wants to pay so much, so we may paint it ourselves. I've never done that, so we will learn from it.
