Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

What gives more comfort in the rear?

What gives more comfort in the rear?

It seems that bike makers have two options:
Thin and long seat stays mounted on the level of top tube (like salsa warbird) or short seat stays mounted way below top tube (like new specialized diverge). In your opinion and from your experience what is a better solution in terms of rear end comfort?

Can't comment on thin stays but short stays below the top tube makes for a stiffer rear triangle which (supposedly) adds to responsiveness while allowing the seat tube to flex a bit more. Anecdotally, I perceive both of those to be true from personal experience.

I've had bikes with pencil-thin stays that join the frame where the down and top tubes meet, and bikes with lower, sometimes thicker stays too. But the whole bikes were different, I don't know how much is the seat stays? Thin ones look nice.

That's why I asked if you meant the RLT 9 RDO.

The RDO stays are perfectly straight.
