stem bolt super sport

Does anyone know of a source to replace the long stem bolt on one of these supersports? who ever had the bike before me must have installed it with visegrips, and it's bugging me because it looks horrible. I had to pull it to put in a new headset and the bolt wont survive being loosended and tightened again. Even if I had the dimentions I could probably find one

I believe more information is needed. MANY bikes were called Super Sport....so, Make and Model, and YEAR would help. Probably of more help, the make and model of the quill stem, as well as size.

To many variables: Size of stem, year of bike, manufacturer.

IIRC, you have a '70s Schwinn Super Sport, but I could be mistaken.

It could be one of these two stems, or the taller flat ridged version used on the larger framed Super Sports, Sports Tourers, and late '70s Superiors.

Your best bet is to remove it and heac to your local bike shop (LBS) and find a replacement.

on this subject, does anyone know where to get some of that original cool lemon yellow paint? I would like to paint the S on mine that same way. And I love the leather wrapped bars, they just look good on these old bikes
