Inspired by non-fixie. I've only seen a couple of them around here and would like to see some more. I'll start - I have some great plans for it but now I need the $$ to follow through! I suppose if you post here, that must mean you've gone from unofficial to official

I'm honored! I suppose it's appropriate to post mine then. This is how I got it. For a very fair price from my favorite LBS, who'd just acquired it as a trade-in. I need to take new pictures, but I haven't changed much. I like it like it is.

Ok it's an old topic but I only got my cadex this June and I'd like to brag about it lol Mine still has got original red cables which I think are nice design touch. Has anybody noticed how some have "GIANT" on the bottom tube and some have "CADEX" there? I think newer ones have "GIANT" I reckon mine is 1994 but not sure and don't know how to check it.

Brought what I believe to be an early one home with me today. 54cm top tube, CADEX on the downtube. Full 105 7 speed group, including hubs with Sun Mistral Rims.

Apparently I can't imbed pictures yet....?

Rear spacing

As an aside - these 980Cs were almost certainly 126mm rear spacing - no? Mine sure seems to be sitting at 130...

I'll get some pictures of mine. It's actually now on display in a bike shop. Cadex, 9sp DA, full Flight Deck, including a working head unit, and period-correct Zipps. Yep, fast.

Speed

Hi guys. How is Cadex performing regarding speed compared to modern bikes?

I'm pretty happy with mine. For a 1989 bonded frame it is pretty solid. I've cheated and put on some modern components and it rides great

Hi guys, I am in possession of a Giant Cadex bike which I am looking to sell. I was wondering if anyone here could help me identify roughly when the bike is from (or if anyone wants to buy it). I think it might be an early model. It's black and has Cadex written in red writing with a grey shadow on the down tube and the top of the seat stay.

The bike has seen pretty heavy use so has lots of wear and tear e.g. marks where the cables have rubbed and some scratches to the frame. The forks have been swapped for some Kona project 2's. And it's in need of a service and some new handlebar grips.

Any help with valuation or tips on how to sell it / the age of the frame would be great. Unfortunately, I can't upload pictures to this forum yet but could try to send photos another way if anyone thinks they can help.
