Just bought a Dahon MU SL

Want to share this beauty with the world...

This is my second folding bike from Dahon, My first Dahon was a Vybe D7 that I rode for the most part of 2020 during pandemic.

Lucky to find this gem from a local seller that I was trying to buy a Dahon Formula S18 from, he said he just sold the S18 and he had this second bike laying around, I can have it for $200 cash... I'm actually glad that I got the MU SL instead of the Formular S18 because this bike is much lighter, which made riding my folding bike a lot more effortless, compared to my Vybe D7 (which is the same weight as the Formular S18, just 11 gears less)

All this MU needed was some light greasing and a new brake cable, rides smooth like butter, and definitely faster than my Vybe D7 because of the 53T+ 11/32T gearing, and a whopping 7lbs lighter even with pedals and kickstand!

In comparison:
My carbon weekend fun bike is 16lb
My carbon commuter road bike is $21lb
My cromoly vintage hybrid commuter is 24lb
And this Dahon Mu SL is in the same weight category as my carbon commuter bike... I'm pleasantly surprised!
Sure, the MU SL is not as fast as my road bikes, but it's just as fast as my hybrid bike, now I'm considering just sell my cromoly hybrid and keep the MU

And here is my old Dahon Vybe D7 in it's original glory before I sold it!

I own the Mu Uno and these bikes are beasts! I immediately got rid of the heavy pump seatpost (actually it's just in my bin if anyone wants one) and installed a Lite Pro. Swapped the handlebars for some narrow swept back bars that fit thru the transit turnstiles and lighter pedals. Replaced the stock seat with another Fizik. I got mine used as well (you beat me, I paid $250) and it's my "locking" bike which I take when I know I will have to lock up. Otherwise I ride my Bike Friday pakiT which never leaves my hands. It's nearly as light as my pakiT with the changes, rides sweet. I know you will enjoy yours - nice pix, too!

They are light. they will be the main weight saving between the vybe and MU followed by handlebar stem and seatpost.

My helios is 10.25kg with comp wheel at the back and comp pro at the front. the rest is pretty much the same as a MU

My first folding bike is a MU SL. It is probably one of the fastest folding bikes I've ever ridden. I sold my MU SL after I bought a Jetstream XP.
