Oddball? Valve

Ran into this at the co-op this afternoon. Now we've seen Schrader, Presta, Woods, and whatnot for letting and keeping air in tubes, but this is an interesting variant we'd not seen before.

Without the cap on, it looks like a beheaded Presta with the stem inside.

The cap screws on the embedded stem, and when one applies a Presta pump head and adds air, it does hold with the cap screwed on.

Is this just an unusual or propietary Presta valve, or something more mysterious? The gang awaits your collective, er, wisdom.

You sure it's not just a Presta with removable valve core?

Don't think so, in that a standard Presta stem with the valve unscrewed is empty, whereas this one has that small nub lurking just below the top of the stem.

That sure looks like a presta valve I know the odd ball thingy inside is throwing things off but I just cannot see it being anything else. I know a Dunlop/Woods valve is semi similar but you know that one and this ain't it

Woah had never heard of a Regina valve (or stored it in the way back file cabinet I lost the key to years ago)...learn something new every day. Go Hondo6 to the valve victor go the spoils : )

I will now be on a quest to find one and pump it up!

!
Otherwise known as an Italian valve, not commonly seen beyond southern Europe.
