Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Ultegra 6800 Wheelset - Green??

Does anyone know if the Shimano Ultegra 6800 Wheelset was actually made in green or if thats just a reflection? I can't find them anywhere, theres no mention in the review but the color seems a little too consistent to be a reflection.

I'm considering these as a replacement for my stock RS11's (on a CAAD10, 105) as well as Fulcrum Racing 3's and Mavic Ksyrium Equipe S (I'm trying to stay under $500)- color isn't the deciding factor but if I go the Ultegra route I do like the look of the green. (Although, if I decide based on color these might just win out - seems like a decent price - just don't know much about them.

brake tracks will eventually become the native color of the material from which they are made. plus a light coating of brake pad schumtz. words to live by.

I got an Ultegra 6800 wheelset about a month ago and love it. Upgraded from Fulcrum 7's that came stock with the bike and they are nice.

As far as that green color, I have a hard time imagining that that is reflection. It almost looks like they rode their bike thru an open field... a lot... and got grass stains on it.

Well, I didn't think it was a reflection either but I did a little more digging and I'm thinking it is.

The only reason I thought there was a green version was because someone posted this picture below in a FB group I'm in and I thought they were the same wheels. I figured if Shimano made a Cannondale/Green version once, maybe they did again - but I IM'ed the owner and its not the wheels that are green, those are Shimano RS70's and its the Continental 4000s GP II's w/ a green stripe! (on a 2009 Six5)

So, mystery debunked - No green Ultra 6800's... and it looks like I'll be ordering the Fulcrum Racing 3's..

It's just the camera/flash/lighting combo. They do not come in green.
