This has been a real crappy year, weather wise, for us down here in Florida. Way too many thunderstorms the past two months and bad weather at the beginning of the year. I'm at 864 as of this morning and have a doctors appointment and other scheduled things to do today so it doesn't look as if I'm going to break 1,000 this month. Even if I do a century tomorrow it won't help me. If this keeps up, it looks like my 9 and 3 for last year is going to turn out to be 3 and 9 for this year. However, I did manage a 1,000 mile month for June.
Edit: Got in 40 miles this morning so that at least got me over 900 miles. Leaving for a three week vacation on Saturday so August will be a bust as well.

I'm cutting it pretty close! Assuming I go the usual route on my commute this afternoon and tomorrow, I'll top out at 970 miles for the month. I meant to get out for a century this weekend, but I hung out with my wife and worked in the garden instead. I suppose a short 'training ride' is in order this afternoon....

July: First 1,000 mile month in the books Ended up with 1,039.5 miles and 45,466' (13,858 meters) elevation gain.
Highlights included:
- A century ride, plus travel to/from, for 132.7 miles
- A metric century gravel ride, plus ride to/from, for 100.8 miles and a pretty healthy 6,243' elevation gain
- A bunch of rides in the 40-60 mile range.

Barely topped 1000 in November (1008). Won't make it in December as I've only done 450 so far and the second half will be harder due to the colder weather + the holidays. This year has been my most productive cycling year, though.

I only managed one 1000+ mile month this year -- 1311 miles in September. The SIR Summer 600K and Crater Lake 1000K helped boost my total.

Congrats to all you guys putting in the 1K+ monthly miles. Between some of the crappiest Florida weather we've had in a very long time, extended, overseas travel, a pretty good crash and getting sick for a few weeks, this is going to be my lowest mileage year in 4 years; not even close to my normal 10K//years. So congrats again and keep those pedals turning. I hope to be posting in this thread a lot more next year,

Thanks, John, and best of luck for next year. In the end, real life takes priority. IMO, it's more important to enjoy every ride than to simply pile on the miles (unless you're in a mileage competition).
That said, 2018 was my best cycling year ever. No injuries, no sickness, unusually dry weather, and a light travel schedule afforded lots of time to enjoy my favorite recreation. I rode all but 22 days this year and had 8 consecutive months over 1000 miles (April-November). I missed December with 922 miles, but it was still the best December I ever had. In the end, I rode 13329 miles for the year, which is a personal record for me.
