Butted Spokes ?
I want to build a set of 451 wheels for a new folder using double-butted spokes but I haven't been able to find a source yet. 406 rims yes - 451 no.
Anyone know of a (retail) supplier?

When I knew what length of spoke I wanted, I would do an internet search for the best price on the specific brand and model spoke I wanted.
Niagara always seemed to have the best price but they went out of business.
There used to be a shop in my community that had a spoke threading tool, I also bought lots of spokes from them when they cut them to length for me, but they moved out of town. If you can't find a source, start calling the local shops and ask if anyone has a Phil spoke threading machine. Most bike shops won't have one, but you might get lucky.

Ask at Bike Friday in Eugene? they build 451 wheels for their folding road bikes (you have one) just buy the wheel, done?
One thing you could do is make up 14 - 15 single butted spokes, by cutting down 14 15 14 double butt and rolling thread in the middle & using with 15 gauge nips.
I have 30 yeat old wheels I built on my Road bike with 15 ga straight.. ..36 of them ..
My factory built Schmidt hub - Brompton rim front wheel , has 28 straight pull double butted spokes.. but they got thousands of spokes made for them..
