"Slight problem" indeed. I can't find anything that says such a size even exists.

My not-a-bike (Street Strider) has 37 x 349 tires on the front; they're made by Innova. You might look into those. I don't know who made the rims.

The bicycle industry needs better standardization.

Ditto. 346 is not even listed on Sheldon' Brown's tire page.

Checked with a couple of bike shops in what passes as the big smoke here. None available, contact the tire makers in Thailand was the consensus. So, here's hoping no punctures until later in the year.

Sutherland's has no mention of a 346 size either. I'd question the info you got from the manufacturer. Have you measured the bead seat diameter yourself? This is easy - just measure the total rim diameter and subtract 2 times the flange depth. Once you have this measurement, you will be better able to decide how to resolve this frustrating issue.
