Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

little booty thingies to walk in your cleets

Is there such a thing? I have a little walk along the railway tracks to connect up a primo cycling rout. Rather than bringing flip flops along, is there a booty that can go over the cleats and leave the racing shoes on? I may just go buy a pair of xlarge flip flops to plant my shoes into but I don't want to carry them. I could always hide them in the bush at the end of the walk.

What kind of cleats do you have? Speedplay, SPD, etc?

I know Speedplay makes cleat covers for their Zero cleats. I think others do as well.

Actually, I want to cover the whole bottom of the shoe. They are carbon fiber bottoms and walking on rocks will wreck them.

Seriously dude, with all the lycra we wear we open up ourselves to enough ridicule. Please do not put “booties” over you shoes to walk around with

I don't wana wear mtn bike shoes. Sure a mtn bike can ride the railway line and I can too on my roadie however I don't wana get a bunch of flats. Ridicule is one of the benifits of being a roady and why we wana wear spandex. I don't wana wreck my shoes. I want booties.

I have them with my Keo's. I love them, and they save your cleats when you stop to get a coffee.

I'm not sure there is a good solution for you. Best I can think of is duct tape to protect the carbon and cleat covers. You could carry rain booties, but that would take up as much room as flip-flops and offer no protection over the rear half of the sole.
