I’m getting closer to bullding up an Enviolo rear hub even if the lowest gear isn’t as low as I’d like. With the BBSHD set at higher power levels, above 3 out of 9, things happen faster than I can react when a stick gets tossed into the jockey pulleys. Or maybe I should just get a motorcycle. Anyway with a big cassette that derailleur pulley is just inches off the ground catching stuff all the time.
Anyone have experience with Enviolo and BBSHD?

Mainly MTB trail riding? tight single track?
All Mt., ski trails or downhill stuff?

Don't fully understand your problem. Why is your derailleur cage so long and low to the ground? Especially with a 1x front derailleur?

Rather than run a "big cassette" why not use a smaller front chainring? 30 tooth rings are available for the BBSHD.

Been riding a long time and never had an issue with sticks in the jockey wheels. Not sure what power levels and reaction time have to do with that if it did happen.

There are lots of BBS & IGH conversions with everything from Shimano 3 - speed to Rohloff (someone here might have one on an R & M e-bike), but not many here AFAICR. You just need to search for them.

I use the bike instead of a side by side so I’m riding across bush hogged fields with 12” high cut grass/brush. On a 650b wheel and biigest cog the lower pulley is 4” off the ground, ergo the derailleur is going through lots of grass. A 30 teeth chainring would put it so far outboard in chainline that the inner big cogs would be unusable thereby losing the benefit of a smaller front chainring. I’m using a Luna Eclipse chainring and holder that puts the chainring in a good central position. I’m on some steep trails so I need low gears for reasonable speeds on technical terrain. This is nothing like riding on regular bike trails.
Likewise I’ve been riding a long time off road but never through this kind of stuff. It’s as different from packed dirt as mud clay is.
I’m using the bike as I would a motorcycle and a derailleur bike just isn’t a motorcycle.
I’m on my fourth derailleur and one wheel rebuild.
