1988 GT Avalanche
I picked this thing up for next to nothing but I ended up spending a good chuck of changed getting all the cables replaced and everything overhaul. Everything seems to be original but the saddle and tires. Unfortunately I'm 6'0 with a 32 inseam and this thing might be too big for me so I might get rid of it unless I can get suggestions on how to make it fit

Ohh man that thing is Awesome, Its in alot better shape than mine. how big is the frame?
as for fit, depends on how to big it is, are we talking seat height or handle bar reach? Seat height is pretty standard you can go as far as the seat will go down.. the handle bars, you can go to a shorter stem.

You're about my size, and that frame does look like it'd be too large. Stand-over is probably...ahem...tight. Yes, you can swap to a shorter stem, and that should improve reach.
That looks like about a 25" frame, which is pretty tall for a 32" inseam. Your true inseam is probably a bit more than 32", but still...that's a tall bike.

according to the catalog the biggest frame offered was a 22" . and low and behold thats my size!

Is this one still available? Just checking - it would totally fit me - I have the same bike in 1989 version - but had an 88 Karakoram (purchased new at the time) and always wanted an 88 avalanche. If available, let me know.
