My friend talked me into the green. It's not a bad color, but I'm a little over it at this point. Thinking about trying out that spray.bike stuff next spring and changing it to burgundy or copper.

I was thinking about trying spray.bike too, to repaint my Felt frame. I'm just wondering if it's worth the price over other spray paints.

Ride to work was pleasant.... ride home was cold! Lol it rained all day but I managed to miss it. Was looking at bike stands for the house / shop. Just simple ones that hold onto the rear axle. Decided to start making a couple out lexan. Thought it will be cool since it’s durable and clear. I’m sure someone makes a clear one, meh. Laid out the arm and cut the axle notch, hopefully have at least one done tomorrow.

Fresh Garbage
I managed to ride on the rollers today for the first time in years. I was really surprised that I could get back on and not struggle with relearning considering I've hardly ridden at all this year. I guess riding rollers is just like riding a bike

Yeah, it is a little pricey, but... some of the colors are really cool, and if it works as well as advertised (always a big if, I know) it seems like it'd be worth it.

They do have some really cool looking stuff. I had my eye on the Keirin collection -- don't know if I'd do my whole frame in it, but it might be cool to have some sparkly accents.

Today I(at least temporarily) removed the fork, stem and headset from my ****ty GL5000 and put the stem and fork onto my.Pakémon so I could fit a 30mm wide tire.

My cranks and FW came in this morning. Threw it all on and went for a 2 hour country ride. This is my first time riding a SS with no clunking freewheel and chain noise every revolution. And going from a 41T to a 48T, this is the first ride where I could cruise at a good speed and put my frame and wheels to the test. Chainline is spot on and no tight spots, it's finally perfect. One of the coolest rides I've done in 31 years. Now I just want to go to sleep so I can wake up and ride again.

Yeah, it looks like about 3mm max of clearance. I rode pretty hard and the teeth didn't touch. If they do in the future I can tap a little dent in it but I think it's good.

Off topic, but does anyone know if these skewer mounted fender eyelets fit on SS axles? It's 41 degrees and raining right now and I wish I had them. *edit* Never mind, I guess they do fit. Wabi sells them and says they do.

If your axle's long enough, it'll work fine. I guess the best way to figure it out would be to measure how much axle is sticking out past your axle nut, and see if that's greater or less than the width of this bracket.

Today I finished a new wheelset too. I patiently collected parts when I found good bargains, and finally got everything together:
Sun CR18 700c rims, $7 apiece, on clearance at Niagara last year
Shimano CB-E110 rear hub, $1 from eBay
Generic Shimano front hub, $12
Spokes, $0.25 each with nipples from Dan's Comp
I can't say enough good things about Dan's Comp, they will cut spokes to any length, and ship promptly. This is my 5th and 6th wheel build. My last few builds have all been high quality, but this is the first time I felt that I could follow a rational procedure without any compromises and arrive at true wheels with consistently high tension.
The rationale of this build is to accept a pair of 700c studded snow tires, and build a totally stripped down winter bike. Now all's I need is a bike.
I can use my commuter for now, but I'm hoping to pick up some decrepit old ten-speed and put these wheels on it.

Today I want a mountain bike so bad.
Yesterday I did intermediate singletrack with an experience MTB rider. I was on my gravel bike but it was so much fun.
Berms at speed were killer and I rode off the edge of a boardwalk about 1 foot off the ground. Kept it upright but was laughing so hard that I missed the next turn and rode straight into the woods.
Felt like an 8 year old kid the whole time.
