appreciate the words guys!
its a 1980 fuji royale.

bought off craigslist for 200. which isn't a steal by any means, but felt it was fairly appropriate, since it was originally 250.
was a 12 speed, i never wanted to convert to single speed with intentions of selling someday as an original. realized i really loved this bike and i continued to ride in the same gear ratio. I at first only took the inner ring, front derailleur, and rear brake off to clean the bike up. then realized why not just ditch everything and make a single speed. I am very glad i did as its very light, simple, and sophisticated looking now. I really need to weigh it but i think its under, if not at 19 lbs. lastly i have had the idea of re doing the paint this winter and adding new authentic decals. im still very back and forth on this idea.

here is how i bought it, and another of how it looks now

Maybe that pair of BB-shell-locked Cannondales is a warning of some kind. Spooky.

Neat stuff, huh?
Sorry, I don't get it. She had beautiful, lustrous hair and now it looks like something from Night Of The Living Dead.

The hair will kind of fluff up a little bit after the first wash. The treatment is to "glue" down the split ends, etc.

Went for a ride downtown today. Stopped by the Farmers market and got some fresh veggies with my grocery getter.

Some urban art on the bike path that was an abandoned railroad track.

After getting the groceries

That building across the river is where they make Canadian Club (Hiram Walker & Sons), a lot of Prohibition whiskey came from right there.

I believe it's registered as a historic site, so they can't. I heard it is being remodeled as apartments, which will take the interior away from it's original configuration, but might be restorable in the future.

Helmets!!
I long for the days when there were no helmets. Gone forever. I can't bring myself to ride around the corner without it.

I rode to a friends house for dinner tonight. The front bag is a perfect home for a bottle of wine. Unfortunately, when I went to leave I discovered my rear tire was flat. Second flat in three days on the same tire. I searched the tire thoroughly when I replaced the tube three days ago but saw nothing. Obviously, I missed it. There's something in there.

Chicken & dumpling soup (ala Thomas Keller). Pretty dang good.

Baked salmon, warm potato salad and sauteed cabbage with homemade bacon. Approve!

Same here, actually. But with that particular group it is helmets optional and many choose not to wear them. Whatever.

What can I say, Matt? I'm a lucky guy. I have them all fooled. They think I'm cool. Suckers!

We had an apple galette for dessert. It was great but I was pretty far into the vino and forgot to snap a pic.
