Clueless- Your post brings back memories of a tour I was part of that included both Glacier Park and Beartooth Pass.

In 1995 I was staff on one of the early ACA Cycle Montana tours. Back then it was a two week long event (now it is one week). The original route started at W Glacier then crossed Going to the Sun Road with the first overnight at Saint Mary. Next stop was Browning, then down to the front range towns of Dupuyer, Choteau and Augusta. After a rest day at Helena we continued on to Three Forks, Livingston and Gardiner. We turned left at Gardiner, rode through the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone, exited the park and then a final climb over Bear Tooth Pass concluding the tour at Red Lodge.

ACA hired lots of staff for the tour so we brought our bikes and rode maybe half of the days when not assigned to a support vehicle. Kind of a dream vacation. Getting paid to ride your bike with a sag wagon carrying the gear and then filing into a catered dinner. We'd then stroll into the host town and check out the bars!

I'm tempted to check out Montana closer too. 👍 I've passed through it a couple times, by car & by train, but obviously, that's just not the same. 🙄😉

Hah! Found it: Vermillion Lakes Rd just before it turns into the Banff Legacy Trail that eventually re emerges at the Bow Valley (1a) turn off. Just under the southern shoulder of Mt. Norquay.

I haven't done that stretch of road before (Vermillion Lakes) and thus never saw the mountain and lake from that perspective but I've passed above it on Hwy 1 hundreds of times.

Cheers!

1993 France, had looked for these prints for years, only turned them up today going through old crap to get rid of.....
Still own the bike, but only ride it on a trainer during the winter.
Man, the helmets in those years were darned hot and sweaty. It would appear that on quiet roads I wasnt wearing it that much....

Thanks. I'm about as Anglo as you can get, genetically a total Brit, and a Montreal anglophone.
Was glad to find the door one. I remember my shoulder hurt for a while afterwards cuz the edge was really digging in my shoulder, but was able to do a normal face for the time my touring buddy took the shot.
Just the other day in Montreal I rode along side a beautiful Citroen 2CV, and the lady driving it told me it was a 1990, must have been right at the end of the production years.

Happy, your old trip photos came to mind when I found these.
Cheers

Canola.
The first time I worked out on the prairies (15) the farmers referred to the fields as R a p e seed and every time they did it made me feel just a little uncomfortable.

On the way to Castle Mountain

yup, always thought that was a weird name to call a crop. Dont know the history of the word really, but one would think it has had the assault meaning for a long long time.

that aside, pretty picture.

All you ever wanted to know, and more:

"The word '****' to describe the cruciferous vegetable in English comes ultimately from Latin via the Romance languages, from rapa ("turnip"). The word '****' to describe a sexual assault comes from a different Latin root, rapere ('to seize or carry off')."

@djb- Those little Citroens buzzing around France always intrigued me! Each one seemed to have a different color scheme. Never had a head on collision with one though.
