shoe sizing dilemma?
I found a new pair of mavic road pro shoes for a fantastic price and bought them w/o knowing the fit of the brand. I received them in the mail today and they are super nice and very comfortable, but they feel snug, not uncomfortable, but just snug. The width seems to be fine. I cannot return them, but don't want to use them if they are ultimately going to caause problems and would like to try and move them along in brand new condition. I know no one can give me a 100% answer, but I wonder if anyone has experience with the fit of mavic or other medium end shoe fit.

If it has to fit properly- Then buy from the LBS Where you can try before you buy.
Saves a fortune on return postage or selling cheap on E-Bay.

strange question but have you worn them to ride yet?
my PI shoes feel snug in the toe box when I put them on. Same thing, not uncomfortable but snug. When I ride, they feel fine. don't know the science to it but I'm glad I didn't send them back as soon as I 1st tried them on.

No, I hadn't tried them when I initially posted, but went ahead and put the cleats on and rode. These are very nice shoes, super comfortable, but one small concern I did have some numbing issues on the left foot, hopefully just a cleat issue. I have a hard time getting cleats positioned correctly, but I am learning. I re adjusted and will try again next time out. I was looking for experienced riders opinions on basic fit since I am very new to riding, thanks for the replies.

If you're buying from a internet source, buy 3 pairs straddling the size that you think you need. Then return the 2 pairs that don't fit.

I think a cycling shoe can fit more snugly than a shoe for walking. Try some thin socks and use the shoes at least until you can get the cleats set correctly. If you sell them, you won't get significantly more for "new" vs slightly used.
