Good Road Routes Near Telluride, CO?
We're going to be in Telluride for a week soon and wondered if any locals know any good road or trail routes. Anything we can do on road/hybrid bikes reasonably. Technical mountain biking would not be good with the family, but some tame trail rides would be fun, or good "safe" road routes you would take a couple of teen agers would be great. ]
Any suggestions?

Can't offer any help on your question but I just wanted to wish you the best on your ride! I've driven through there a few times and I bet there's some great riding to be had.

For the riding you describe, there isn't any. There is only one paved road in that valley, the main highway, and every car, truck, delivery truck uses it. Plus the elevation in Telluride is over 9000 feet, so you will all be feeling the effect of the lack of oxygen. There are beautiful trails to hike, think about the area around Lizard Head Pass,at the back end of Trout Lake, or hike up to the base of the waterfall at the end of town. T-ride is just not a family cycling area.

Just got back and that's pretty much what we found. We mostly hiked and rode around town and out to the falls with the kids. The last day we discovered the village trail. Its a hiking/mountain bike combo trail that was easy enough to do on rigid frame bikes, but I wouldn't take a skinny tire roadie down it. This is definitely downhill mtb territory.
