Need Help: Alternative tire for Kenda 20x1.2 (32-406)
hello! i need your help especially in tires. I have a classic bicycle made from Japan ALVLAYZ 6061 Heat tech. Tires have different sizes, front tire is 16x1.2 and the rear tire is 20x1.2. So i need to change the rear tire but i can't find same brand and dimension with the stock one here in Dubai. Does anybody knows for an alternative tire or tire size for Kenda 20x1.2 (32-406). Thank you in advance for your help!

Since it is a 32-406 something like this continental 20 x 1 3/8 should work if your looking to upgrade from the basic kenda's.

I looked up Schwalbe tires, and they have the correct wheel diameter 406, but the closest width is either 28 or 35. If there's room for a 35-406 tire both Marathon Pluss and Kojak (super slick threading) are available.

This tire will most likely NOT fit the OP's bike. Fractional size 20" tires (20x1 3/8, 20x1 1/8, etc) typically have a bead diameter of 451 mm. Decimal size (20x1.5, 20x1.75, etc) have a 406mm bead.
The bike industry loves standards. That's why everybody has their own.

The op states the tire is listed sized as 32-406 which is decimal 20x1.2 and the continentals run about 35-406 which is just slightly wider than the kendas.

Yes, the Kendas already on the bike are 406's. The ETRTO standard for fractional 20 inchers is a 451mm bsd, and 406 for decimal. But leave it to Conti to do it their own way.

Good thread timing. I am also looking for 32-406 tire suggestions. I have significant tread separation on the two year-old stock Kenda Kwest 32-406 20" for my Bacchetta Giro 20. This could be a fluke. I've only had such tire failure twice in [what I'd consider] not a lot of miles (1500-2000). The other was on some Conti 700-23's. I've had Kendas on other bikes, and they've been fine tires.
Schwalbe lists a 32-406 (not sure if it's the Marathon model), but I'll be darned if I can locate an online seller.
If the OP wants the same 20" rear tire, I found an ebay seller who carries the same thing...Kenda Kwest 32-406. They do international shipping.

I have had good luck with Panaracer "Minits Tough" and absolutely terrible luck with Primo Comets. I heartily recommend trying the former and avoiding the latter.

Thanks for the input on the Minits. I decided to gamble on another Kenda Kwest since they're less than half the price of a Schwalbe, for example. Also didn't want to waste anymore time searching for an e-tailer with the size I wanted. So many seem to have 1.5" or bigger, or 1.125". Little to nothing in between. I've had problems with other reputable tire manufacturers like Conti and Michelin. My rationale is that a tire with more "meat", like a 35 or 38c, will/should last much longer than 23 or 25c. I've had exactly two sets of 38c on my 20+ year old hybrid (commuter), and easily 10,000+ miles.
