Looking for someone to tour upper half

of Lake Michigan this summer. Sixty eight year old male. Fifty or so miles per day. Can do credit card or camping or both but would prefer credit card tour. Ferry across from Ludington and around counter clock wise back to Ludington.

Enjoy! I did just such a ride last summer...supported. Said ride (Over the Top) will not be repeated in 2015. If you intend to hug the lake as much as possible, stay safe along Highways 35 & 2. Hwy 2 has a wide enough shoulder to feel safe despite having lots of high speed traffic. 35 has a shoulder, but I found it somewhat unnerving after a while. There really isn't a way around those two roads in the U.P. At least not without adding significant mileage. But once you get to St. Ignace, it's all good. The last half was very similar to the League of Michigan Bicyclists' Shoreline West tour...which is fantastic (I've done that three times). Good luck finding some biking buddies!

Thanks for your input, it is greatly appreciated. I have been thinking of the Shore Line west tour. Did the UP tour with them last summer. Doing RAGBRAI this year and am looking for another ride to do in Michigan or Wisconsin.

GRABAAWR, BikeNorthwoods, and SAGBRAW are affordable week-long rides in WI that could fit the bill. I have done the first two multiple times, and will be doing the latter for the first time this August. None of them are tough. Although of the three, GRABAAWR would be the more challenging route...it runs along the Wisconsin River.

Yes. Been looking at the SAGBRAW which is going to be in Door County in Wisconsin this year. If I decide to do that one will let you know. Thanks for your interest.

101, I really like the idea of putting the Ferry into the picture, but I think wife and I are going to do the Shoreline MUP this summer, if I can get the timing sorted out.

Bumping up this thread! Last year we did not get our timing sorted out to be able to do the Shoreline MUP, but this year I think we are all set for it.
