The World is Flat : So Says Sagan

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, they probably decided to keep it PG. Those of us familiar, know where to add them.

Peter hopes the world has a couple of climbs so there are no pure sprinters left at the end to deal with.

“It’s true. The Earth is flat. The Earth is flat. Yeah, it is. Yes, it is. Listen, there are three ways to manipulate the mind — what you read, what you see and what you hear. In school, first thing they teach us is, ‘Oh, Columbus discovered America,’ but when he got there, there were some fair-skinned people with the long hair smoking on the peace pipes. So, what does that tell you? Columbus didn’t discover America. So, listen, I drive from coast to coast, and this (expletive) is flat to me. I’m just saying. I drive from Florida to California all the time, and it’s flat to me. I do not go up and down at a 360-degree angle, and all that stuff about gravity, have you looked outside Atlanta lately and seen all these buildings? You mean to tell me that China is under us? China is under us? It’s not. The world is flat.” - Shaquille O’Neal

Nope....well, maybe, considering Sagan's ability to deliver thousands of watts on demand, he's kind of like an eBike when paired up with a regular old bike.

You missed the part where Shaquille O’Neal (you know, that HOF basketball player) is making all of this stuff up for fun! He was agreeing with Kanye’s statement that the earth is flat; after all, Kanye knows, especially when he wears a certain hat that gives him superpowers.

There is evidence however of Nordic (Vikings) settlements in Canada before Columbus times. Whether they were lighting it up and exactly what they were smoking if so is an entirely different matter.

Some crossed the pond long before Columbus did, and others walked here. Seems they all did it on a big flat surface, according to Kanye and Shaq!

I kid you not!

...see him in action at about 0:38 or so.

Actually, I stand corrected... Shaq wasn’t responding to Kanye, but to Kyrie (Irving). My bad...

Did further goo-search, and yes, Kanye is listed among flat-earth celebrities...

But, back to the main topic. If Sagan states the earth is flat then IT IS flat!
