Centurion LeMans Dumpster Dive
Hey guys, found this bike laying next to the dumpster today. Silverish Centurion Lemans in disrepair. Wheels are actually there, just removed. Aray 27"x1.25. Seem like touring size rims to me. Look almost like skinny Mt. Bike wheels. 10 speed drivetrain. Suntour equipment except Shimano SIS 7 speed rear dearailluer that was probably replaced? Lot of rust spots, but I don't see anything that could't be cleaned up. My question to the community is? What should I do with it? The front derailluer is missing parts, otherwise everything is seemingly there. Mostly alloy components. Will need all the basics, new pads, rubber, tape plus a lot of elbow grease. And oh yeah, no seat post or seat 
. Could go fixie with it, or debating the value in fixing it up as an extra bike. Actually is my exact frame 21" frame size!

Welcome to BF! Sounds like time for the ultimate DIY bike rehab self-education project and the cost was certainly right for the start-up kit!

Thanks for the support....still looking for some good ideas on what direction to take this. Probably not enough bike to warrant a full restoration so I'm still trying to decide where to go with it. Cheapest thing would probably be to go fixie since the 1/2 of the shifter that controls the front derrailleur is in pieces. Otherwise it seems like it could be put back to whole with mostly time. Anybody have any experience with this type of project?

Nice find! I have yet to find any bike in the dumpster. Your easiest/cheapest route would probably be to ss/fixie.

If it has the shifters and deraillers in place and since those shifters can't break I'd just restore it. If you go to SS you still need most of the parts anyway.
