Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Do you know any good rides in Texas?

Hi all,

I have the next few weeks off and would like to spend the better part of one of them in Texas, riding the roads. I am seeking any recommendations in the Dallas or Austin area. (Austin is 12 hours from Kansas City, that is about as far as I want to go.) Rides/routes/clubs/camping areas......

Any info or suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you,
Uncle Jack

Plano Cycling and Richardson Bike Mart are good starts for the scene in Dallas. I'm guessing that the riding in Austin is better, though.
