Pasela Pannaracer tubeless?

Recently got a cross bike, and want to take the plunge into tubeless.

I dumped the stock cross tires for a more road friendly and wider 38mm Pasela Panaracers.
They are soft sided gumwall tires, and was wondering ( eventhough they are not tubeless rated ) if anyone knows if they work as tubeless tires.

I feel like i read somewhere that gumwalls don't make great tubeless tires because of the thinner sidewall casing is more prone to leaks. But if they could work in a ghetto set up with lots of sealant i'd like to convert over, if not, i'll just keep riding tubes.

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

They aren't designed to be run tubeless. Definitely do not run them at high pressures (>45 psi)without tubes because the bead could blow off. They may not form a great seal because the bead shape and dimensions are not intended for tubeless. You may be able to build up the rim more to get a tighter fit. I would try to see if I could make them burp before riding them. And, as you mentioned, they may bleed a lot of sealant.

There are a number of good wide tubeless options out there. These days, it seems generally not worth the hassle and unreliability to run anything but tubeless ready tires.
