MN commuter & wannabe tinkerer
I got into bikes pretty recently- found a sekai 2400 frame missing some parts when i moved to a new place in the twin cities last fall and decided to try fixing it up. Found the sekai thread here and never looked back.
These days I'm commuting on a cheapo Mongoose until the nuclear winter passes on, then it's long rides around town on a trek tourer or the sekai (now functioning thanks to parts from a couple of lbs and a crash course from the Sheldon Brown site). Interested in trying fixed gear at some point, in the meantime just trying to learn how bikes are best put together.
Bikes have very quickly become my prefered form of exercise and therapy- i was a jogger for a while but this is way more fun

Welcome! I think I also got into bikes for the restoration aspect. There's just something about cleaning the grime off a nice aluminum part that is very satisfying.

Welcome. As already said, exercise and therapy go together.
