Liked the idea of quick chain ring swaps, and the ease of upgrading to Easton's new power meter if I decided to. And it looks cool.

Not sure where I'm at on the power meter yet, I really like it on my road bike. Works great for indoor training, I'm not great at utilizing it in my outdoor training but does give nice feedback on efforts. I have this also, very nice crank. I got it for many of the same reasons you did. It took about 3 mins to change the ring the first time.

Did you get the Easton bb or spacer kit if needed? Just checking because I didn’t realize I would need the spacer kit when I ordered mine.

I did get the Easton BB but I didn't order a spacer kit. I got the BB in yesterday but I wont have the rest until next week, hopefully I wont need to order anything else. But now worries if so, its winter and I have other bikes.

You shouldn’t need anything else since you’re using their bb. So far only positive things with mine. It’s very light, easy to install and change rings, and looks good on the bike.

I spray it on myself after I get out of the shower and I no longer need wicking base layers.

I have an illuminite jacket that I would like to be a bit more water resistant again.

I'll have to treat the garment and then get caught in the rain to let you know.

The backpacking forums all seem to like the product and have their own recipes for how it should be used - wash first with this, dry that way, spray on like this, let stand for so long, etc.

My Gravel Grinder is also my winter bike... and hopefully the bike I use for a little adventure cycling this summer. So I just added a heavy duty rack and panniers (small ones). Gobs of room for gear.

I just posted the pic at this thread and hesitate to upload it again... and don't know hope to like to the file, otherwise.

A lot of outdoor clothing comes from the factory already treated with DWR. But the stuff only lasts so long, even in spite of the name. Rule of thumb is you need to reapply it every season. (Another rule of thumb is it's never as good as the factory application.)

In my experience it really only works on clothing that was meant for it in the first place. Spraying it on pants and shirts that aren't meant to be water repellent was just a time consuming waste of money. It seemed like a good idea - I mean, I live in Seattle - but it didn't pan out.

I meant (but forgot) to reply to this.

Wash the clothing first, you want it clean. You want the stuff to bond to the surface of the fabric not some oil or whatever covering the surface.

Spray the garment down, have a good coating everywhere.

Put it in the dryer on hot. It's the heat that bonds it to the jacket.

Always use the spray, don't ever use the wash in stuff. You want the outside of your jacket to repel the rain, you don't want the inside to repel your sweat.

I personally use Granger's DWR because that's what Arc'teryx recommends and most of my jackets are dead bird ones.

The product pictured is designed to renew garments which are already DWR but not working as well as they did. It isn't designed to waterproof what isn't already DWR. There are other products which claim to do that.

Many store clerks don't seem to be able to grasp this concept, or perhaps they just don't feel it is an important enough detail to be bothered. I've asked for Revivex DWR at stores with big Gear Aid displays such as REI and Cabellas and am always pointed toward waterproofing products. They never have the DWR renewal products in stock and so I had to order online. Walmart.com had the best price and their pickup in store process worked well.
