Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

The best road plus tire?

WTB just announced a couple of knobbier models. On Bikerumor.com is where I think I saw a writeup on them.

Bikepacking too, New WTB Sendero 47 and Venture Road Plus Tires - BIKEPACKING.com

The Venture 47 is pretty cool for those that need a bit more than the Byway.

I am not sold on the Sendero, As I'd probably pick a 27 mtb tire. Yet, Maybe someone has room for a 47, but not room for a 2.1 so this is a good thing. Or maybe the 47 Sendero makes a little more room for a tread plus fender on some bikes?

Wow, the Venture looks right up my alley.

I'll be getting a set. I've been looking for something knobby in order to run my Priority 600 gearbox bike on singletrack more often. Pretty sure I could squeeze in a 2.1 or 2.2" tire, but these Senderos will be an easier fit. I don't care about mud clearance, because I don't ride in mud. We are sand all the way down though, and knobs help a lot with grip in the corners.

Right. You did say that. I'll be removing the fenders though. The size should also be useful for non-fender bikes running the same tire size. There are more and more out there.
